The basic composition of the alloy contains approximately 56% <span class=\"s2\">nickel<\/span>, 20-23% <span class=\"s2\">chromium<\/span>, 12.5-14.5% <span class=\"s2\">molybdenum<\/span>, 2.5-3.5% <span class=\"s2\">iron<\/span>, 2-6% <span class=\"s2\">tungsten<\/span>, and small amounts of <span class=\"s2\">cobalt<\/span>, <span class=\"s2\">vanadium<\/span>, <span class=\"s2\">copper<\/span>, <span class=\"s2\">carbon<\/span> and <span class=\"s2\">silicon<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Hastelloy C22 has been designed particularly for use in chemical systems that alternate between <span class=\"s2\">oxidising and reducing environments<\/span>.
